The Sugar Bar, located at 373 Fisher Road across from Grosse Pointe South, is a quick and easy grab and go option for a healthier lunch. It is almost easy to miss when driving by, but inside you can find a cozy area to order all different kinds of breakfast sandwiches, coffees, pastries and much more. There are many seating options such as sitting at the bar area while watching your food be prepared, or sitting on the comfy couch and leather chairs while enjoying your meal with friends.
There are several drink options such as coffees, lattes, matcha, shakes, smoothies, refreshers and more. I ordered the iced americano and vanilla iced latte for drink options. The iced americano had a strong coffee feel to it, and I added creamer. The vanilla iced latte featured strong hints of vanilla and sweetness, but a light coffee taste if you’re more into sweet hints of richness.
There are a few options for breakfast sandwiches including a simple bagel toasted with spread and the option of bacon or sausage with egg and cheese. I ordered a sausage with egg and cheese on a gluten free bagel, toasted. The breakfast sandwich was good, served warm and smelled delicious. It was quite cheesy, which I prefer, lighter on the eggs, which I personally enjoy, and sausage patties. My only complaint is that it was a bit pricey for a small bagel sandwich costing me $7.50.
Not only are there breakfast sandwich options, but there are also lunch items such as avocado toast, subs, grilled cheese, salads, macaroni and cheese and more. The next item I ordered was the grilled cheese for $7. It was toasted nicely, served warm on crispy, buttery white bread and the cheese was super creamy and pulled apart nicely.
Overall, I would rate the Sugar Bar a 4.5/5 stars. It was just a bit pricey, but it offers many great food options and is quick and easy to get to for a filling, delicious lunch. I would definitely recommend Sugar Bar for a lunch option if you have the time for a leisurely meal.
