Hi my name is Kate Kasuba. I'm a sophomore at Grosse Pointe North. I am a first year intern and I am so excited about everything we accomplish this year. I am on the varsity golf team and the varsity ice hockey team. I am also on the lacrosse team and in the DECA club. I love hanging out with my friends, traveling, and being with my family. I love watching football and I have season tickets for the Michigan State football team. I love to go to concerts for the many artists I love. In the summertime I love to go tubing, jet skiing, and swimming. I can’t wait to see how this year goes!

CALL TO ACTION | To promote school pride, Athletic Director Michelle Davis thinks students should stay engaged in community-based activities. “Kids, they need to go out and represent North every day,” Davis said. “We talk about representing North, protecting this house obviously, is one thing, but when they’re at a concert in the community, on a field, still doing what we believe is true as Norsemen to do, to make sure that people see North the way we see North.”

CREATIVITY IN CRISIS | The former Creative Writing classroom sits empty since the course is not running during the 2023-2024 school year. English department chair Kristen Alles has empathy for the students who weren’t able to take the class, and wishes for its return future. “Having a class solely dedicated to Creative Writing is fun and I think it really helps foster that for students who really like Creative Writing,” Alles said. “I do feel bad for students who really want that [creative] outlet and art, but hopefully we can see it again maybe next year hopefully it’s not cut for good.”
