Are you “Ready For It?” We weren’t. From her Debut era to her Midnights era, Taylor Swift has been a huge role model in many lives because of her relatable songs and her kindhearted personality. Swift is currently on her “Eras Tour,” performing a 44-song setlist, including songs from each of her past albums, and two special “surprise songs” for each individual show. While some were lucky enough to attend, many fans were left without tickets. However, on Oct. 13, the “Taylor Swift: Eras Tour” movie came to theaters, allowing those who didn’t secure tickets to experience the magic of the Eras Tour.
This movie is a close up of Swift’s concert performance, featuring almost every song on the setlist. The clips were filmed throughout each of the three Los Angeles shows, which fans are able to differentiate based on the curliness of Swift’s hair. In theaters, fans are able to dance and sing along to the movie as if they are at the in-person show. Viewing the Eras Tour movie was an incredible experience, and it is the perfect alternative for those who were unable to attend the concert.
The movie progresses in the same order as the concert, opening with the “Lover” era in Sofi Stadium and closing with Swift’s “Midnights” era. Throughout the movie, viewers were able to listen to all of the songs and sing along while being able to watch Taylor and her dancers. With the outstanding choreography displayed in concert, it is not hard to see the hard work Swift and all members of her crew put into the show. These exceptional efforts were easily transferred to a movie screen hence all the excellent camera angles. As cameras spun around Swift and each of her dancers, the costumes are clearly visible, seeing each and every detail put into their appearances.
The cutest part of the theater experience was seeing all of the young girls dressed up dancing and having the best time. The movie was a fun and more relaxing way to enjoy Swift’s show compared to her lively, energetic concert in-person. In theaters, it is entirely a choice whether you prefer to stand up and dance or remain seated to enjoy the show in the cushioned theater recliners. However, if you prefer the latter, do not expect everyone to remain quiet in their seats. The “Taylor Swift: Eras Tour” movie was a unique and genius way for Swift to allow all of her fans to experience the magic created at her Eras Tour show. The theater had an energy that we have never experienced at any other movie showing. One thing that could elevate the outcome of the movie would be to include more moments of entertainment, and not only concert clips, but other than that, the Eras Tour movie was an outstanding watch and highly recommended. We would rate this movie a four out of five stars.
