Girls synchronized swimming with Juliette Aouad
Senior captain Juliette Aouad has participated in synchronized swimming since seventh grade. As a leader, Aouad hopes that North’s synchronized swim team will go far and reach their goals this year.
Serving as one of the team captains, Aouad established expectations for the upcoming season, including securing a spot on the all-state wall.
“[One of the team’s goals is] to be a lot more technically improved than we have been in the past and to get back up on the all-state wall,” Aouad said.
The team plans to practice frequently to refine their technique and enhance their performances. According to Aouad, this is a strategy that will require hard work and team coordination, which the team is already demonstrating in practice.
“Definitely keeping up our sportsmanship and our work ethic, which has been super good so far this season,” Aouad said. “Keeping the morale up if we don’t meet our expectations.”
Boys basketball with Brady Beers
With elevated expectations for the season, the boys’ varsity basketball team is eagerly anticipating how they will synergize on the court, according to senior Brady Beers. Beers is optimistic about the team’s performance and looks forward to upcoming tournaments, one of which they emerged victorious in last year.
As a leader on the team, Beers wants to ensure that everyone on the team is as engaged and close as they can be to ensure high performance during games.
“I think we have to come together better as a team, increase our chemistry, and also continue to challenge each other in practice and make each other better every day,” Beers said.
