Faces in the Crowd: Junior DJ Mattes
While most people who play videogames stick to consoles, junior DJ Mattes uses something a little less common, his Portable Computer (PC).
“When I was in middle school, I got a laptop. That basically opened up my world to it,” Mattes said. “I basically just slowly shifted my gaming focus from my Xbox 360 0nt0 my laptop.”
Although a little more rare than console gaming, Mattes said that things like backwards compatibility, the level of immersion and the availability to upgrade computers give PCs a leg up on consoles.
However, for Mattes, the best part of PC gaming is how customizable it is.
“If you’re on a console you’re basically limited to what the developer chooses plus maybe some moderate things here and there, like what is the color of your background?” Mattes said. “On a lot of PC games, you can just choose whatever you want.”
