Whether it is scrolling through Instagram or TikTok, influencers are everywhere. The second we open any social media platform, we are easily persuaded and intrigued to purchase new products. The latest craze taking over all platforms is water bottles. From Hydro Flask to Stanley Cup to Owala, each bottle has had its time in the spotlight. There is only one question for these trendy and aesthetic bottles, which one is best and worth the purchase?
Hydro Flask ★★★★
Hydro Flasks are iconic and timeless. Gaining popularity in 2019 from the photo-sharing platform VSCO, Hydro Flask has over 13 different colors, a range of lid styles and sizes ranging from 12 oz to 64 oz. With these options, you are bound to find your perfect stainless steel and vacuum insulated bottle to keep your drink cold all day long. When comparing the 40 oz versions of these battling bottles, the Hydro Flask ranks as the most expensive at a price of $49.95 for both the 32 oz and 40 oz sizes. Although it is on the pricey side, it really does keep ice-cold all day. After filling the 32 oz bottle in the morning, the ice lasted and began to melt around the end of the school day. Despite the slight melting of the ice, the Hydro Flask kept the water cool and crisp all day long, honestly making the water more refreshing. Our only complaint is that it is heavy and slightly annoying to carry all day long. Overall we gave the Hydro Flask a 4/5.
Owala ★★★★★
The Owala is different from a lot of other water bottles. When drinking out of the Owala you do not have to worry about unscrewing the top constantly to drink your beverage. With the press of a button, the dual sip lid is revealed allowing sipping from a straw or pouring water into your mouth. Owala bottles come in several different styles, colors and sizes, but we are reviewing the 40 oz bottle. It has a unique shape and a leak proof design. Although it cannot fit in a car cup holder, it truly is leakproof and can be tossed onto the passenger seat. It is the least expensive bottle for $37.99. The Owala water bottle comes in 13 different colors, and ours is one of their “color drops,” or limited edition bottles. It is made with triple-layer, vacuum-insulated stainless steel that keeps water cold for 24 hours. We found ourselves wanting to drink water and stay hydrated because of how fun the straw design is. The Owala has everything you need in a water bottle. We give this water bottle a 5/5 and we highly recommend it.
Stanley Cup ★★★★
The craze behind this bottle is how it manages to be both aesthetic and practical. This bottle took over TikTok for supposedly making water crisp and keeping it incredibly cold. Realistically, this took off because influencers praised how cute the bottle was, holding it as an accessory. This bottle comes in several different models, sizes and colors, however, their best-seller, the tumbler with the iconic handle, is what we used. From our first impressions of the bottle, we understand the hype around aesthetics. We purchased the 40 oz tumbler for $45 in the orchid shade and calling it adorable would be putting it lightly. The water remained cold throughout the day and the bottle got several compliments for its appearance. Although ironic, its handle forces you to hold the bottle rather than storing it which ultimately led to finishing the 40 within two hours. We also really like the structure of the bottle as the 40 oz fits in a car cup holder. We hate to sound like the influencers we fell prey to, but the bottle lives up to the standards. Our only complaints are that sometimes it is heavy or annoying to hold and occasionally can leak when tipped over. Thus, the Stanley Cup earns a 4/5 star rating.
