Spirit week overview

Monday: Sophomores wear their spirit shirts to set an example for the freshman class. The sophomore’s theme is spooky sophomores to represent the celebration of Halloween. Their class shirt is based off the Netflix original series, “Stranger Things.”
Tuesday: Freshman wear their spirit shirts and their celebration is birthday. The class photos for all underclassmen will be taken at 7:30 a.m. in the gym.
Wednesday: Juniors celebration is New Year’s Eve. It’s a senior tradition to wear each of their past shirt on the corresponding days. So on each day there will be a sea of green, yellow, or black flooding the halls.
Thursday: This is the awaited Toga Day for seniors. The parking lot will be open at 6:45 a.m. for all seniors who want to assemble and hang out in the parking lot before running around the school. The class photo will be taken at 7:30 a.m. on the soccer field bleachers.
Friday morning: The Norsemen show their school pride at the hype pep assembly for the students, staff and community. Each class should wear their spirit shirt to show their class pride. Seniors should wait near the art room hallway so they can run in together. The falls sports will run in as a team, the football team will perform their dance, and the students will take on the teachers in tug-a-war.
Friday after school: The different classes start showing up at Monteith elementary school around 5:30 p.m. to get ready to walk in the parade. Each class walks with their floats and cheers for their class. When walking, the students attitude and spirit counts towards the Spirit Jug which is awarded to a class at the football game later that night. The band, cheerleaders and dance team all walk in the parade too.
Friday night: At 7 p.m. the homecoming game against Sterling Heights High School will start. During halftime, the homecoming queens and kings are announced for each grade. The Spirit Jug and best float winners will also be announced at halftime. Tickets are $5.
Saturday night: The homecoming dance starts at 7 p.m. North students will not be allowed in if they break dress codes or do not have their ticket. The dance ends at 10 p.m.
