The lights dimmed. The stage glowed. The singing commenced.

Rihanna begins the concert with her song “Stay” and the eloquent piano played along as the Queen of Pop made a dramatic entrance.

In a jumpsuit and hood, she walked through the crowd with a cape flowing behind her. It seemed almost Godly—beloved RiRi dressed in fresh white linen slowly marching through her screaming disciples with big posters and cell phones waving in the air. The moment was unforgettable.

The singer performed at the Palace of Auburn Hills on March 24 as a part of her Anti World Tour. Fans screamed at the top of their lungs the moment the concert began, which was expected. After four years of silence, this concert, and album, was like a breath of fresh air. Rihanna has come back stronger, raunchier and better than ever.

There was never a dull moment during the concert. Rihanna’s opening act, Travis $cott, brought immediate excitement to the crowd. Rapping songs from his debut album, Rodeo, $cott performed his set with irresistible energy, especially when he crowd surfed near the end of his performance.

Rihanna’s concert consisted of mainly new songs from her album ANTI but also included old hit favorites such as “We Found Love” and “What’s My Name.” From Rihanna newbies to RiRi fanatics, there was a song for everyone to sing along to. The crowd consisted of young teenagers with their annoyed parents to 70-year-old couples wearing Gogo boots and bright pink wigs. The concert brought all different types of people through the doors and unified us by the power of her music.

The overall atmosphere was electrifying. A white backdrop blanketed the stage and bright kaleidoscopic lights reflected off into the stands. Each stage set matched the mood of each song. Colorful lights flashed as Rihanna sang “Pose” and a stormy sky backdrop gleamed on the stage when she performed a slower song, “Love on the Brain.”

The concert was a night to remember. Waves of fans all chanted along to the tunes of the Barbados legend as she danced and sang songs highly adored. The entire venue shook with great enthusiasm and irradiated with a diverse group of fans.
