  1. Ex-NFL player murdered

Former NFL player Will Smith was shot over a dispute driving home from a New Orleans city festival on Saturday night. Smith was shot multiple times while his wife was shot once in the right leg. City police charged the suspect, believed to be Cardell Hayes, with second degree murder. Smith was a former defense for the New Orleans Saints. Read more here.

 

  1. President Obama stands behind Hillary Clinton

President Obama defended former Secretary of State and presidential candidate Hillary Clinton on Fox News Sunday from the controversial investigation on Clinton’s lack of a government email throughout her former job. He told interviewer Chris Wallace that he believed she hasn’t threatened America’s national security. President Obama also praised her by saying she did an “excellent job” as Secretary of State.   1. Drake confirms album release date

Views from the 6, Drake’s newest album, is planned to be released on April 29. Drake released “Summer Sixteen,” his first single from the album, in January. He recently dropped two more surprise singles called “Pop Style,” featuring Kanye West and Jay Z, and “One Dance,” featuring Kyla and WizKid. Views from the 6 will be for sale on Apple Music and iTunes. Read more here.

 

  1.  BMW celebrates its 100th anniversary

To commemorate BMW’s 100th anniversary, the company released a limited edition car in Japan. The i3 Carbo Night is modeled with a fluid black print, LED headlights, and 20-inch alloy wheels. It’s also said to include  a Harman/Kardon sound system.  The car’s set price is $55,000 (USD) and only 40 units have been produced. Read more here.

 

  1. 150 killed in firework accident

A Hindu New Year celebration turned deadly when a firework blast killed 150 and injured more than 500 in southwest India. The accidental fire destroyed a temple office building and a storage shed. It also damaged nearby houses. Authorities opened up a criminal case because the temple didn’t originally obtain permission for the fireworks celebration. Read more here.
