HOPE THROUGH HELP | Face Addiction Now Director of Community Education, Madie Tortomasi, believes that there is so much hope to recover from substance use disorder and no one should let it consume them. “There’s a lot of resources available, so if anyone is struggling you simply can just Google ‘substance use resources in my community’ and it’s easier now than ever to find treatment and to find resources to be able to help them quit whatever they may be addicted to,” Tortomasi said.

FOUR PILLARS | Although Paula Staperfenne is passing the role of NHS advisor to Paul Golm and Sarah Newton, she is happy that she has been able to help students find a home at North over the years. “Just the aspect of guiding students and showing them they need to take ownership to be a part of the building,” Staperfenne said. “A lot of times when you apply to NHS it's all about what clubs and teams you have joined. You make this building your own and I thought that was important.”
National Honor Society embraces new changes
STARTING UP | Inspired by the excitement of the club's presidents, club advisor Liz Micheals agreed to help launch the new group and support their passion for health care. “The two girls, Eva and Ashlei, approached me and said it was something they were really interested in, and that they needed a club advisor, and so their enthusiasm made it hard to say no,” Micheals said.
