United States President Donald Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a televised meeting in the Oval Office on Feb. 28. The conversation covered topics like military aid, diplomacy and holding nations accountable, leaving some wondering how it will shape the U.S.’s role in global affairs.
The meeting created much debate when it led to an argument between Trump and Zelenskyy. Junior Luke Leonhard noted the significance of the exchange and how it may affect the U.S. in the future.
“This interview will definitely affect future U.S. foreign relations because the world saw what happens if the topic of policy is not discussed properly,” Leonhard said. “The interview will hopefully build better relations between countries because Trump’s stance on resolutions is to talk policies and build a relationship with the leaders.”
