Two months into his second term, President Trump signed an executive order on March 21 to dissolve the Department of Education. The Trump administration has withheld funding and the Department of Education had to cut its workforce by 50%.
Hoping to be a teacher, junior Morgen Barsh emphasizes the harmful actions taken to slowly eliminate the Department of Education.
“Trying to get rid of the Department of Education isn’t going to help any more when more programs are getting cut, more teachers are losing their jobs and education’s quality as a whole is going to drop more and more,” Barsh said.
