Shari Adwers, MJE, teaches journalism and advises the North Pointe newspaper and Valhalla yearbook. Her students have received top state and national awards for their publications and individual work. Adwers is first vice president of the Michigan Interscholastic Press Association (MIPA) and the Journalism Education Association curriculum leader for editing. She presents at local and national journalism workshops for students and advisers, is a leader in curriculum development and is in alignment with her district and state. With a focus on mentoring young journalists, she embraces challenges, emphasizes student leadership and maximizes talent.
