Red carpet fashion: Golden Globes’ best and worst
5 worst (5= worst of the worst)
5 : Lena Dunham kicks off the list wearing a mustard yellow Zac Posen gown. Her posture seems to reflect our opinion about the dress: it’s terrible.
4. Julia Roberts looked as if she forgot she was attending a major awards ceremony when she chose this office attire designed by Dolce and Gabbana. The dress would have been red-carpet-ready if it weren’t for the white top.
3. Sandra Bullock walked the carpet in a dress that had an array of cotton candy colors. The colors not only made the dress look childish, but the cut made her figure look wider and didn’t flatter her.
2. Last year at the Oscars, Jennifer Lawrence wore a beautiful white ball gown that set the bar high for future awards ceremonies. This white number didn’t work; Lawrence disappointed with her snowman-like Dior follow-up dress that was unflattering, to say the least.
1. At first glance, Aubrey Plaza’s dress is a fine choice for an appearance at her high school prom. The matchy-matchy Oscar De La Renta gown looks more like a simple dress than an elegant gown that should be worn to such a prestigious awards function.
5 best (1= best of the best)
5. Amy Adams- Though her dress blended in with the red carpet, Amy stood out amongst the stars. This Valentino dress is the epitome of elegance and had a modern flare with the plunging neckline.
4. Red was a popular color at this year’s Golden Globes. The color of Lupito Nyong’o’s Ralph Lauren dress complemented her skin tone perfectly and made her look like a red carpet goddess.
3. One can never go wrong with a simple black dress. Sofia Vergara took the iconic little black dress and stepped it up. With a mermaid fit top and pop of turquoise, Vergara took simple elegance to a new, voluminous level.
2. Reese Witherspoon appeared in an unexpectedly simple turquoise dress that added a much-needed pop of blue to the red carpet in this Calvin Klein beauty. Reese looks chic in this dress that is tailored to perfection.
1. Although it offers an extreme poof, the maroon-like color of this elegant Lorena Sarbu gown won us over; t complements Giuliana Rancic’s skin tone like peanut butter and jelly. The ballerina-styled dress emphasizes her already tiny frame. She was a vision on the red carpet in (almost) red.
