CUDDLY CONCEPTS | Interacting with animals and appealing to one’s senses integrates a feeling of comfort between the animal and the human, according to Toledo Zoo School and Prairie Specialist Timothy Messer. “Engaging multiple senses in learning is a great way to ingrain a memory in your brain,” Messer said. “By having an interaction with animals that you are able to touch, see, hear and smell, you can learn more about them than you would otherwise.”

CHANGING DIRECTIONS | As she steps into her new role, something Dr. Sara Delgado wishes to maintain is her approachability for students. “I think that even sometimes if it's just joking around with kids in the hallway, that helps to build relationships so that when students are actually in a situation where they need support, they don't feel intimidated,” Delgado said.
