Not as fun of a run as the first one, Fun Run 2 recently released on the app store. It’s similar to the first, but the differences between the two range from hits to misses.

The original game was victorious with its reviews: a hit with all ages with critics raving. Fun Run was very enjoyable so it’s a definite plus that a lot of the features carried over into its successor.

One of the best parts of the game is its playing modes. The ability to practice alone, play with friends, or be grouped randomly allows players to compete in a variety of situations. It’s a bonus to have the different types because it allows you for practice time or a chance to connect with friends in a competitive setting.

However, the use of coins to get gear for your avatars is a tired idea. To the more picky user, not being allowed to choose your own course when playing in random selection mode makes it problematic. Who wants to play on the Bouncy Forrest? Cannon Town is so much more entertaining.

The power up’s new appearance poses another issue. Its icons, different from the original version, confuse some players and make the game harder to understand. On the other hand, there is a more diverse selection of power ups, keeping the game interesting.

Lastly, the design is superior compared to other animation games like Frogger, Stickman and Subway Surfers. The app boasts a cartoonish feel with just enough detail to keep it fresh. Its design peaks the audience’s interest without overwhelming them.

Both the original and new versions are similar, but they’re different enough that downloading the app is worth the phone storage.
