Junior Lilly Reinhard’s love for music began during car rides with her mom jamming to Dixie Chicks when she was a young girl, whose concert they attended this summer. Reinhard has been in choir since fifth grade and enjoys playing guitar and writing music and lyrics to accompany it.

“I’ve been playing since I was 12,” Reinhard said. “I took lessons for about two years and then I stopped because I didn’t have time. So, I started teaching myself by watching videos.”

Reinhard’s main inspiration now differ from artists she loved when she was younger.

“When I was really young, I first started playing because I loved Taylor Swift and I just love all the country artists,” Reinhard said. “I don’t have one person specifically anymore.”

Though she hopes music will always remain a big part of her life, Reinhard understands the difficulty of making it big in the music industry.

“I think if I knew I could not fail, I would be a country singer.” Reinhard said. “The plan I have for myself now is to go to medical school and become a pediatric surgeon. I definitely think music will always be a part of my life though.”
