To those who love all things mystery, a new game has come out to satisfy your insatiable mystery craving. A new gameplay app called Agent Alice has proven to be puzzling, entertaining and worthy of players’ consideration.

In the game, the player in placed in the role of the main character, Detective Alice Wallace. The game’s story is like other crime mystery games in that it is a clue-based search but it also has a splash of the mythical. However, this pairing tends to really confuse the player because it is out of place with the mystery theme.

The levels in the game are fairly simple. Each level has a series of puzzles that one has to complete in order to continue. The game has a multitude of different problems to solve, such as I Spy puzzles and pattern puzzles.

Agent Alice also includes other gameplay aspects for gamers to worry about, including energy points (which are required to complete puzzles)  and stars.. Without the required amount of energy points players can’t continue the level, so this facet of the can be annoying because the only way to regain energy points is to wait for a period of 10 minutes or more, or by purchasing more energy with real money.

This concept is relatively the same for stars, except to gain stars players have to replay puzzles to gain experience. Once the experience bar is full, you gain one star from that puzzle. This can be boring for people, since the puzzle doesn’t change much and difficulty doesn’t increase.

The graphics are certainly not amazing, and don’t compare with more extravagant three-dimensional mobile games. It is a  simple one-dimensional platform where the player must tap the screen to move to the next cutscene. It looks almost like pictures that have words of dialogue on the bottom. Although it’s nothing extraordinary, that doesn’t mean it’s bad quality. Despite it’s graphics, the game is set up very nicely.

The game does have drawbacks that disrupt the user experience. The game is buggy, and it will sometimes freeze and force the player to exit the game. It doesn’t have a save system either, so if players experience problems in the middle of a cutscene the game will make them start over.

This game is a definite time consumer and is suitable for those who like mysteries. Though it has gameplay problems, it’s a good game to play when there is nothing else to do.
