Despite their best efforts, the boys varsity soccer team couldn’t pull out a victory against Grosse Pointe South in the team’s annual Wounded Warrior match. Tonight’s game ended with a final score of 2-1.

Every player participated in the game’s opening ceremonies, and walked either a retired or active serviceman down the field.

Despite the difference on the scoreboard, both teams appeared equally matched. The first half ended with South capitalizing on a corner kick, giving the team a lead of 1-0. They strengthened their lead in the second half, pulling ahead to a score of 2-0. Senior Jack Kennedy managed to score a goal for North, but the team was unable to catch up to South.

on their toes, and senior captains Brandon Simone and Adam Hilu also made strong playmaking contributions.

The team finished their regular season play tonight with a 4-8 MAC White record. Their first playoff game is Oct. 20 at North against East Detroit High School.
