If you’re looking for a game that lives up to its name, Impossible Road is the perfect stop. But if you want a game that’s easy to understand and play, then this app isn’t the right fit.

Impossible Road boasts a cool blue and white design, however, its beauty is only skin deep. The game lacks clear directions and supports a “learn-as-you-go” technique that can confuse players.

The goal of the game is to control the infamous white ball formally known as “The Vessel.” To get a high score, the player needs to get the Vessel through as many checkpoints as possible. The challenge arises when the blue road spins and changes direction rapidly, plummeting the Vessel to its death. The thrill from not knowing what will happen next both excites and frustrates players.

Even though it can be confusing, Impossible Road may be one of the most addicting games ever created. Once the player understands the game, the rush of excitement and anger that comes from losing forces the player to keep trying. Even if you aren’t a fan of games, you’ll keep playing out of frustration, until the app becomes purposeless.

Impossible Road‘s player statistics are similar to its directions: lacking. The app refuses to display the high score (highest checkpoint achieved) as the main statistic and requires searching to find it.

There are also some navigation issues with this app as well. It’s difficult to get to the main menu from other pages and to pause games.

The design, however, is still appealing. The slick blue road contrasts with the plain white ball to give it a fresh new feeling. The design’s minimalist feel is nice to look at and is the app’s best feature.

Another issue with the app is that there is no end. Similar to popular apps like Temple Run and Jetpack Joyride, the game goes on forever. This can aggravate players who want an end point. Everytime “The Vessel” sinks, the player has to start over too.

Overall, Impossible Road bears a resemblance to a roller coaster without harnesses. The Vessel soars on and off the impossible road, and the only way to maneuver it is left and right. In a nutshell, this confusing game isn’t worth the time it takes to understand how to play it.
