Movie club debuts at North

Juniors Katelyn Carroll and Jacob Kempton are taking their interests in viewing and discussing movies a step further by starting a movie club. When the club has a movie screening they plan to watch a film and discuss it afterwards.

“My hopes for the movie club are that enough students show interest to watch a movie, and then discuss the value and content.” Carroll said.

They also plan to talk about each movie’s impact on the movie industry, and use of character development. Carroll hopes to have the club started by early February, welcoming all students, especially those wishing to improve or share their movie-interpreting skills.  Carroll and Kempton have made a list of movies with a balanced amount of content that they plan to show.

“I like romantic comedies and indie films, Jacob likes darker humor and movies with classic, amazingly developed plots.” Carroll said.

Some movies they are hoping to show are: V for Vendetta, Little Miss Sunshine, and The Breakfast Club.

Carroll intends on having the club functioning as soon as possible for the after-school viewings to begin.
