iPhone+5s+vs.+Galaxy+Note+3

Introduction

The iPhone: a phone that has revolutionized the world of technology. But is it still number one? Or has a new phone emerged to become the reigning champion? The Galaxy Note 3 phablet (phone tablet.)  We broke down the differences so you can decide which one is right for you.

Display and Screen Size

Size is one of the biggest factors people use to determine what their next phone will be. According to phonearena.com, the iPhone 5s kept the same size 4-inch Retina display as the iPhone 5, the same 640 x 1136 pixel resolution and the same 326 pixel per inch density. On the contrary, the Galaxy Note 3 included a major upgrade compared to its sibling, the Galaxy Note 2. Also according to phonearena.com, it includes a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display and a 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution, which results in a 386 pixel per inch density. Although size may play a key role in which phone to chose, the Galaxy Note 3 provides a much higher quality screen for the user.

Battery Life

A long battery life is another important feature people look into before getting their new phone. According to t-mobile.com, the iPhone provides the user with 10 hours of talk time on 3G and 240 hours of standby time. However, also according to t-mobile.com, the Galaxy Note 3 provides a 25-hour talk time and a 420 hour standby time on 4G. Even though the Galaxy Note 3 provides a much longer battery life and may even allow the user to avoid an overnight charge, some people may say that the battery is too long and would just prefer a phone that gives them one day’s worth of battery before charging it for tomorrow.

Processor

Both phones feature lightning quick processors. According to phonearena.com, the iPhone 5s introduces the A7 64-bit chip with a 1.3 GHz dual-core processor. This is the first phone ever to use a 64-bit processor; however, more companies will be looking to use 64-bit processors in their future phones. Samsung, on the other hand, features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip with a 2.3 GHz quad-core processor, which is also very fast. Both phones are speedy, but it is hard to tell which one really has the faster processor. So in this case, it’s a tie.

Camera

Many smartphone users love to have high-quality cameras, which come in handy with apps like Instagram and Snapchat. According to phonearena.com, the Iphone 5s revealed an eight megapixel camera with a dual LED flash and a 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera. The Galaxy Note 3 according to phonearena.com has a 13 megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2 megapixel front-facing camera. In this case, the iPhone wins the rear-facing camera, but the Note 3 pulls out on top with the front-facing camera.

Extra Features

In today’s market, every smartphone that actually sells well has some distinguishing feature. The iPhone features a fingerprint scanner to unlock your phone for extra security. On the other hand, the Note provides a much upgraded 3rd generation S Pen. Both features come in handy and are pretty cool. It’s up to the user to decide which one is the right one for them.

In Conclusion

Both of these smartphones are two of the highest quality devices out there.  It all depends on what the user wants. If the user wants a large, powerhouse of a phone with a crisp display and extra long battery life, the Galaxy Note 3 is the right choice. If the user desires a unique phone with a quick processor and that iconic feel, with decent battery life, then the iPhone is the right fit.
