  1. US government accuses Russia of hacking

On Friday the Obama Administration officially blamed Russia for hacking into the Democratic National Committee and other political organizations. As a result, lawmakers are confident that the administration will penalize the Russian government for interfering in the election. Read more about the issue here.

  1. President of Columbia wins 2016 Nobel Peace Prize

For over 50 years, the Colombian Civil War brewed. President Juan Manuel Santos was awarded the prize because of his efforts to end the conflict between the government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia. Find more information here.  

  1.  Matthew reaches Atlantic shore

Since arriving at the Atlantic shore, the National Hurricane Center demoted Hurricane Matthew to a post-tropical cyclone. Although the storm isn’t a hurricane anymore, it is still dangerous, and has caused at least 17 deaths in the US. Click here to track the storm.

  1. “Max Steel” premieres

Director Stewart Hendler’s new movie “Max Steel,” which comes out on Oct. 14, depicts the adventures of Max McGrath (Ben Winchell) and his companion, Steel. The film showcases actors Ben Winchell, Ana Villafañe and Andy García. Buy your tickets here.

  1. New debris from plane crash found

On Thursday Malaysian and Australian officials confirmed that a piece of the Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 wing was found in Mauritius, an island in the Indian Ocean. Since its disappearance in 2014, little wreckage of the plane has been found. Investigators hope to locate the flight data recorders in order to help form a consensus as to why the plane crashed.
